Abstract: Academic procrastination is a common behavioral problem among students that negatively affects academic achievement, mental health, and overall well-being. It refers to the intentional delay of academic tasks despite knowing the possible negative consequences. The present article discusses the meaning, causes, effects, and management strategies of academic procrastination among students. Factors such as poor time management, fear of failure, lack of motivation, anxiety, and excessive use of social media contribute significantly to procrastination. Academic procrastination often results in stress, poor academic performance, low self-confidence, and emotional instability. The article also highlights effective strategies to reduce procrastination, including proper planning, goal setting, self-discipline, counseling, and supportive learning environments. The study emphasizes the importance of awareness and guidance in helping students overcome procrastination and achieve academic success.
