Abstract: This study explores how effectively the fire services in Dimapur are able to manage fire risks and how these challenges impact the local economy. The investigators used both primary and secondary data, including surveys from the public and interviews with fire department officials in Dimapur Fire Stations. The study shows that Dimapur still faces several fire-related issues such as shortages of manpower and advanced equipment’s, budget constraint, poor hydrant conditions, limited awareness among the public, and heavy traffic that delays response time. Public responses also indicate that many areas lack proper fire safety measures including fire risks awareness. Frequent fire incidents led to loss of property, disruption of business activities, and increased cost of emergency responses. The study highlights that improving fire safety infrastructure, investment in training and equipment’s and awareness programs can reduce both human and economic losses in the long run.Overall, the study concludes that the Dimapur Fire Department is making continuous efforts but there is anurgent need for better planning, upgraded technology, stronger public awareness, and increased government support to ensure an effective fire risk management system in the city.
