Abstract: The vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 aims to transform India into a developed, inclusive, and knowledge-driven nation by the centenary of independence. Achieving this ambitious goal requires strong human capital development through quality education, skill enhancement, innovation, and sustainable growth strategies. The present article examines the relationship between human capital development and sustainable national progress with special reference to educational imperatives for Viksit Bharat 2047. The study highlights the role of education in enhancing productivity, employability, technological advancement, and social equity. It also discusses the significance of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in promoting multidisciplinary learning, digital literacy, vocational education, and research-oriented development. The article identifies major challenges such as educational inequality, unemployment, digital divide, inadequate infrastructure, and skill gaps that hinder human capital formation in India. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of inclusive education, teacher development, technological integration, and lifelong learning in building a sustainable and self-reliant nation. The study concludes that effective educational reforms and investment in human capital are essential for achieving sustainable economic growth and realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
