Impact of Cultural Diversity on the Educational System in India

Abstract: Culture within a society develops gradually over time through continuous interaction between people, their natural environment, and the social norms they construct. It is further enriched when individuals from diverse social backgrounds coexist and engage with one another. Culture encompasses both tangible (material) and intangible (nonmaterial) elements. Variations in habitat, shaped by specific ecological settings, lead to diversity in housing patterns, including differences in construction materials, size, design, and architectural features adapted to climatic conditions, as well as the systems of movement and connectivity available within those environments. The present study examines the impact of cultural diversity on the educational system in India. Data collected from 200 respondents were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The findings reveal that cultural diversity has a moderate but significant influence on the educational system, affecting language, inclusion, and curriculum practices. The study highlights the need for culturally responsive educational policies and practices.
