Abstract:This paper examines the disinvestment strategy of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in light of its proposed initial public offering (IPO). Established on September 1, 1956, LIC has played a pivotal role in India’s life insurance sector, providing tailored insurance plans that blend coverage and savings with lifelong financial support. The organization has a rich history, tracing its roots to the Oriental Life Insurance Company founded in 1818. It has evolved significantly to become a major player in global financial markets.
LIC’s IPO, announced in the 2021 Union Budget, aims to sell a 3.5% stake, raising approximately Rs 21,000 crore and valuing the insurer at around Rs 6 lakh crore. Despite this, the IPO has faced significant challenges, including a drop in share prices and underperformance compared to expectations. This paper explores the government’s strategy to achieve its disinvestment targets for the fiscal year 2022-23, the challenges involved, and the implications of the IPO’s performance on LIC’s products, services, and policies.
The study employs descriptive research methods, relying on secondary sources to analyze LIC’s financial position across several years, including growth in premiums and policy payouts. The financial data reveals LIC’s robust market presence and performance, despite increased competition and economic fluctuations. The research also investigates various disinvestment methods, such as share sales and strategic sales, and their impact on LIC’s financial stability and market position.

Abstract: Soccer, known as football in most parts of the world, is one of the most physically demanding sports. The role of physical fitness in soccer is paramount as it directly impacts a player’s performance, injury prevention, and overall career longevity. This article explores the various aspects of physical fitness essential for soccer players, including endurance, strength, speed, agility, and flexibility. It also discusses how each fitness component contributes to soccer performance and the importance of a well-rounded fitness regimen for soccer athletes. Physical fitness is integrated with technical, tactical, and psychological training. Recognizing that fitness is a foundational element that supports all other aspects of soccer performance, coaches and teams can prioritize a more balanced and comprehensive training approach, leading to more well-rounded and adaptable players. Teams with players who possess superior fitness levels are better positioned to perform consistently, adapt to different game situations, and execute strategies effectively. This advantage can be critical in achieving team success, particularly in high-stakes competitions where physical endurance and resilience often determine outcomes.

Abstract: This research aims to investigate the secondary school academic performance of Muslim students in the Paschim Medinipur area of West Bengal in relation to their parents’ aspirations. Using the Purposive Sample approach, the researchers chose 40 Muslim secondary school children and their parents from both rural and urban areas in the Paschim Medinipur region of West Bengal. The study’s goals are to determine whether parental aspirations have any bearing on the academic achievement of Muslim students pursuing secondary education in the Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal and to evaluate the academic achievement of Muslim students pursuing secondary education in Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal based on their gender and residential area. For the current study, the researcher used the Normative Survey method for fulfilling the objectives. The population of the present study consists of Muslim Students studying at the secondary level in the schools of Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal. Using the purposive sample approach, the researcher has chosen 40 Muslim secondary school pupils from the current population. Both primary and secondary data were employed in the investigation. Primary data on parental aspirations were gathered via the use of a questionnaire with 20 items that asked parents about their goals for their children’s education. The second section included 29 assertions at first, but when experts analyzed them, nine of them were eliminated based on their recommendations. So the final version is of 20 statements. On the other hand, the data on academic achievement have been collected from the school record. Collected data were tabulated and analyzed with Mean, SD, and t-test in the SPSS.20 version software. The findings of the study indicate that the students who have high parental aspiration have lower academic achievement and the students who have lower parental aspiration have higher academic achievement. It signifies a negative correlation between the academic achievement and the parental aspiration.

Abstract: Indian society is a pluralistic society. Since the establishment of Colonial rule Indian social structure with the Colonial state relationships flow through tensions. The character of the Colonial state was mainly repressive and Oppressive. The goal of this state was Indians establishing authority over society, land expropriation of revenue and forest resources and mineral resources and to secure the foundations of British rule. That is British Government maintained political and military authority keeping and procuring raw materials from India selling British products. As a result of colonialism Indian since the end of the eighteenth century the society is disturbed in many ways. Eighteenth century and under the influence of colonialism in the nineteenth century Adivasi tribal entities, caste, class status multiple changes occur. Why this change? How did various classes develop in colonial India? The aim of this study is to understand what happened.

Abstract: This research aims to explore the intersection of Dalit literature and postmodernism within the context of contemporary English literature. Dalit literature, emerging from the marginalized voices of India’s oppressed communities, offers unique perspectives on social hierarchies, identity politics, and resistance. Postmodernism, characterized by its skepticism towards grand narratives and emphasis on plurality, fragmentation, and subjectivity, provides a theoretical framework to analyze the diverse narratives and styles found in Dalit literature.The study investigates how Dalit literature engages with postmodern themes such as deconstruction of power structures, fluidity of identity, and the destabilization of fixed categories. It examines how Dalit writers employ postmodern techniques such as metafiction, intertextuality, and fragmentation to subvert dominant discourses and challenge established norms. Furthermore, the research explores the role of language and representation in Dalit literature, particularly in the context of postmodern linguistic theories and the politics of translation. Through close textual analysis and theoretical inquiry, this research aims to illuminate the dynamic interplay between Dalit literature and postmodernism, highlighting their mutual resonances and tensions. By situating Dalit literature within the broader framework of postmodern literary theory, this study seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of both Dalit literary expression and the complexities of postmodern aesthetics in the contemporary English literature.

Abstract: Modernization has fundamentally transformed various sectors, with education being one of the most significantly impacted. The advent of e-learning has revolutionized the traditional education system, offering a more flexible, accessible, and personalized learning experience. This paper explores the relationship between modernization and e-learning. In this study the researcher has used the descriptive survey research design. In this present study the population consists of the B.Ed. college students studying in different colleges (Govt, Govt. Aided and Self Finance) of Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal. Out of the population a sample 60 students including male (30) and female (30) were selected by following purposive sampling method for the purpose of the study. Test of E Learning Related Attitude and Comprehensive Modernization Inventory (Ahluwallia & Kalia, 2010) were used for data collection. For the purpose of the study the researcher used both the descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The study reveals that there is not a meaningful relationship between modernization and e-learning.

Abstract: In India, this study looks at parents’ experiences with and involvement in gender and sexual assault prevention in a rural primary school context, where these crimes are still common. Within the framework of racialized disparities, socioeconomic exclusion, and gendered power hierarchies, the parents are black female carers who shoulder the weight of gendered impoverishment and are at the forefront of navigating their kids’ safety in school. Three focus groups with fifteen parents whose children were enrolled in the primary school were used for data collecting. The study examined the interdependence of all matter within the assemblage of gender and sexual violence using a new feminist materialist analysis. The results showed that there was a spectrum of violence, including sexual harassment, grooming, and sexualized touching, from hallways to classrooms. The stories shared by the participants made clear the difficulties they had navigating institutional responses. Parents confront deficit-based narratives and demand accountability from educational authorities in spite of these obstacles. The study draws attention to the necessity of fostering cooperative partnerships between parents and schools in order to advocate for gender transition, justice, and care by elevating the voices of black rural women.

Abstract: Socioeconomic status (SES) encompasses not just income but also educational attainment, financial security, and subjective perceptions of social status and social class. Socioeconomic status can encompass quality of life attributes as well as the opportunities and privileges afforded to people within society. In this article an attempt has been made to find out the socio economic status of Tribal Adolescent girls students in the rural Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal. Primary data have been collected by the researcher personally conducting the field survey through the help of a well structured pre-tested questionnaire and also a checklist to obtain information from the people besides the actual responding whereas the secondary data have been taken from various published and unpublished books, VDC records, articles and writings of the other people. Purposive sampling method has been applied to select the Sample of 186 students. Simple percentage system is used for data analysis. Findings of the study indicate that the population are engaged and depends mainly on the agriculture and subsistence sector and Women are found to have concentrated mainly on household and kitchen chores coupled with substance farm management.
